A needleless connector for improved aseptic irrigation and urine sampling from a 3-way foley catheter are disclosed. An irrigation set or urine sampling syringe can be inserted into a needleless connector to irrigate or urine sample the bladder without disconnection of the catheter and the bladder can be irrigated or urine sampled while maintaining a closed, aseptic system. When the device is removed the connector closes. The flat closed surface of the connector is easily sanitizable with standard medical sanitizer such as 75% alcohol so bacteria cannot enter the system when a device is attached. This allows for aseptic access to the interior of the foley catheter system so that irrigation and urine sampling can be performed without contamination of the foley drainage system by bacteria, or exposure to body fluids and infectious waste.
