This design is a novel 3-speed rear hub bicycle transmission. It provides three forward gears. It consists of a planetary gear mechanism and a gear-shifting mechanism. It possesses unique features of compact size, high efficiency, and excellent durability. It can shift gears when the rear wheel is not rotating. The presented design is suitable for the transmission systems of urban bikes, city bikes, and electric wheel chairs.
