From the early states of inventions to commercialization

1973

  • The Korea Patent Association(KPA) is established

1982

  • KIPA is renamed as The Korea Invention Patent Association(KIPA)

1994

  • The Korea Invention Promotion Association(KIPA) is founded

1995

  • The Affiliated Patent Technology Information Center opens(Independent in 2001)

1996

  • The Patent Technology Commercialization Help Center opens under KIPA

1997

  • IP Rights Research Center opens under KIPA(Independent in 2005)
  • Invention hall opens(7/2 stories with total floor space of 4,936m2)

2003

  • The Korea IP Service center(KIPS) opens (20/8 stories with total floor space of 48,638 m2)

2006

  • Approval for distance learning institute
